I have worked as a scenic painter in the film industry for around 28 years.
The emphasis of film set painting is largely concerned with the imitation of surfaces, be they wood, concrete or flaking paint and more broadly, walls, floors, ceilings and other architectural elements. Another key factor in achieving the illusion of reality is mimicry of the visual effect of time and usage on an environment.
